In July this year KD Warrior Mum & KD Foundation President Meagan Mitchell set her sights on participating in her very first half marathon to raise funds and awareness for Kawasaki Disease.

Meagan set up a race team, a fundraising website, flyers, events page, T-shirts etc to try and get as many followers as she could to this event. She had a goal of $2,000 in mind which she reached with the help of all the KD Supporters.

In conjunction with this event Meagan promoted it at her son’s daycare where they held a Super Hero Day to talk about Kawasaki Disease and shared Aurora’s story through the daycare Newsletter and why Meagan was running.

This event was a huge success… not only did it get the message out about Kawasaki Disease but we now have some additional funding to help go towards purchasing a Kawasaki Disease Foundation tent so that we can use towards future events. WATCH THIS SPACE.
